Profile

Dr. Raymond Yeak Dieu Kiat received his undergraduate and medical degree from the National University of Ireland. He has served in East Malaysia prior to specializing in postgraduate training in Master of Orthopaedic Surgery and completing his residency at University Malaya, a tertiary university teaching hospital. He had gained extensive experience during his residency, achieving his orthopaedic surgery qualification and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (MRCS).

Dr. Yeak has a particular interest in sports trauma and had gone on to pursue sub-specialisation in sports surgery, gaining expertise in the full gamut of shoulder and knee surgeries which covers arthroplasty and arthroscopic reconstructive surgery. He has treated and performed orthopaedic surgery on national athletes from wide array of sports for sports related conditions. Apart from sports surgery, Dr. Yeak also has special interest in general orthopaedics and orthopaedic trauma surgery. He is an active member of the International AO (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen) trauma society having served as AO Trauma Faculty Member as educator for AO courses.

Dr. Yeak undertook a clinical and research shoulder surgery fellowship in Perth, Australia and completed a fellowship specializing in knee surgery in Seoul, Korea. Later, he went on to obtain his fellowship, sub-specializing in sports surgery from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Dr. Yeak has a strong passion in teaching and training and has designed and led many orthopaedic surgical courses. He thoroughly enjoys teaching and training fellow orthopaedic surgeons, orthopaedic surgery trainees and junior doctors. Due to his active involvement in surgical training, he obtained membership of the faculty of surgical trainers from the Royal College of Surgeons (MFST). He has also been awarded Excellence Service award from the Universiti Putra Malaysia. Dr Yeak has published numerous articles in international peer reviewed journals and presented at both national and international conferences.
