Our Secondary Counsellor assists students with thor preparation for life after IGBIS, life which for the majority of our graduates means study at university. This assistance starts in the MYP, mainly in Grade 10 when students begin to consider their options for university. Individual and group discussions, as well as regular information sessions for both students and parents, help to guide students’ choices for the most suitable subjects in Grades 11 and 12, leading to their post-secondary study.
Students are required to thoroughly research their university choices and are limited to applying to a maximum of 10 universities, assuring schools that the student is a serious applicant. IGBIS hosts a large number of university visits throughout the school year that help students talk to admissions officers, a process that is integral to the decision-making process.
Approximately 75% of students graduating from IGBIS enter university directly after graduation, and 99% of students enter university within 18 months of graduation. Students have been accepted to many prestigious universities around the world, reflecting the quality of students educated at IGBIS.
