Senior Leadership Team

Jason McBride is an experienced international Head of School who proudly serves the IGBIS community after having previously led schools in Thailand (UWC Thailand in Phuket), Canada (Stratford Hall in Vancouver) and the UAE (GWA-Dubai and GEMS American Abu Dhabi). Having spent nearly all of his 20-plus years in education in CIS accredited and IB continuum schools, Jason is a firm believer in those organizations' ability to help create the kind of great human beings the world needs to become a more peaceful and sustainable place, all while building the learning and academic skills to pursue their own given path. Having worked in a variety of day and boarding schools, non-profit and for-profit, Jason strives to keep students—especially their wellbeing—at the centre of the decision-making process so that the entire community is united in the pursuit of its mission. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Jason received undergraduate degrees from McMaster University (B. Kinesiology) and Queen’s University (B. Education), before pursuing his Master’s degree with Michigan State University and completing his doctoral coursework at the University of Calgary (ABD). Jason is a former TEDx speaker who thoroughly enjoys living abroad with his wife and two daughters who are heading into Grade 5 and 6 respectively. Being surrounded by an international, open-minded and adventurous community keeps his family overseas and they are proud to make Malaysia their "home".
